How truly blessed we have been today to have had our primary veterinarians come and talk to our cam viewers for over an hour.
Dr. Darcy Adams (39 years a vet) and Dr. Brent Pettigrew (50 years a vet) gave us a little history of their involvement in FFRC over the years. These two have combined, 89 years of treating cats, dogs and so many other types of animals. Dr. Pettigrew worked with Jacci Moss for years, helping to establish FFRC.
They have saved so many of the cats at FFRC over the years, it would take pages and pages to name them all. But just to call out a few:
Dr. Pettigrew operated on Magic 11 years ago, never giving up that he could be saved and have a wonderful life being the cat he was meant to be.
More recently, he saved Rumpelstiltskin from certain leg amputation to save his leg and now he goes here, there and everywhere.
Dr. Darcy worked with Megan for over 10 months to help close the wound of Buckeye allowing him to live.
Dr. Darcy has worked closely with Megan bringing the treatment of FIP to FFRC saving, among others, Wheeler, Vincent, Teddy and now Amy from certain death
Dr. Darcy gave credit to her team for not giving up on saving Kevin’s life. Kevin was the cat found frozen to the ground and thought to be gone, but the never give up staff worked to save him and he was later adopted..
Dr. Darcy works closely with FFRC to ensure we have proper, humane and the most up to date techniques and medicines.
In short, FFRC owes so much to Dr. Pettigrew, Dr. Adams and the entire staff at Fountain City Veterinary Hospital in Bryan, Ohio.
Thank you both for stopping by and giving a further look into the wonderful works of Friends of Felines Rescue Center. And as Dr. Pettigrew said several times, none of this would be possible without Jacci, Megan, the incredible group of volunteers over the years and the Friends we have across the world who provide us the means to keep going.
Shout out to talented medical professionals at Fountain City Veterinary Hospital.
Magic says hi to the man who saved his life.
